What should I do with my @wfu.edu Google Drive Files?
* Accounts created before August 2023 currently have access to Gmail (email), Drive, and Photos and with 50GB of cloud storage. Accounts created after August 2023 have access to Gmail (email) only with 25GB of cloud storage. Changes to Google terms of services made continuation of this suite of services and cloud storage unsustainable.
We know your files are important to you and you may want to access them after commencement. We recommend using Google Takeout to transfer your Drive files to a personal Google account. You can also manually share and copy the files by following these steps:
- Select the files you want to share in your student account
- Right-click or use the “More” menu and select “Share”
- Share the files with your Personal Google account
- Log into your Personal Google account and open Google Drive
- Select all of the files you just shared, and right-click or use the “More” menu to select “Make a Copy”
**”Make a Copy” will create a copy of each of these documents that are now owned by your Google One (or personal Google) account. If you do not Make a Copy, the file will be deleted from your Personal Google account when your @wfu.edu account is deactivated 60 days after Commencement.**
Please note: If your Drive files exceed the space on your Personal Google account, additional storage can be purchased by visiting one.google.com.
