Cleaning up your Azure Virtual Desktop
At the end of each term, all Azure Virtual Desktops will expire. During this process, all personal data (files & folders) stored on the Azure Virtual Desktop will be deleted. To retain personal data, users MUST move or copy it to another location. Once your desktop expires, all data not transferred to another location will be lost.
Use one of the following methods to move/copy files & folders to your Google Drive:
A) Use the Google Drive web interface
- Log into your Azure Desktop using the Remote Desktop app.
- Open any browser and navigate to drive.google.com and sign in with your WFU credentials.
- Use the web interface to upload/download files as necessary.

B) Use the Google Drive Desktop App
- Log into your Azure Desktop using the Remote Desktop app.
- Launch Drive for Desktop from the start menu
- Click Sign in with browser.
- Sign in with your WFU Google Account
- You will see a Google Drive (G:) Appear on your quick access list as well as in This PC within File Explorer. You will be able to save files directly to this drive for access from other devices, as well as access files you have saved to your Google drive.
