VR Goggles: Understand Sleep Mode Options
Understand Sleep Mode
Sleep Mode is a low power state that significantly saves the battery charge of the device. It also allows the device to quickly resume activity without having to fully reboot.
The Meta Quest 2 transitions to Sleep Mode in one of the following ways:
- Briefly press the power button on the headset
- Remove the headset from your head. When the headset sensor detects light, the idle time countdown begins
The default idle time for the device is set to 15 seconds. This is a very short period, so extending the idle period is a helpful configuration change.
Change Sleep Mode default Timeout
- Place the headset on your head and press the Power Button to turn it on
- Locate your controllers and make sure the primary controller with this button (
) is in your right hand
- Using your primary controller, select Apps with your index finger trigger
- Select the System tile with your index finter trigger
- Scroll down the list on the left navigation bar and select Power with your index finger trigger
- Select the drop-down option by the Auto Sleep Headset and select 15 minutes
- Click X with your index trigger finger to close the Power options
