Accessing a Delegated Google Account
It is possible to grant access to another Gmail account by adding a delegate. This person can read, send, and delete messages for another Gmail account. Delegated access is the standard way that users access departmental accounts (guest accounts). The following instructions outline how to accept the invitation for delegated account access and how to use the delegated account from within your personal account.
Confirming access to the delegated account
- You will receive an email from “Wake Forest University Team” to grant you permission to your guest account.
- Open the email and click on the link to accept access.
Accessing the delegated account
After confirming the request, it can take up to 24 hours before you can access the account through your own account.
To toggle between your account and delegated account(s):
- Click your account photo or the circle with your first initial in it (located in the upper-right corner of the page).
- From the drop-down menu, select the desired delegated account. A new window or tab will open displaying the delegated account.
