How to change your password [Faculty & Staff]
Please note, your WFU account password must be reset every year. This policy is enforced to maintain a high level of security for your account and the Wake Forest University network.
*A group of users with access to privileged information may have a different set of password requirements, including changing their password every 90 days. These individuals will be notified by Wake Forest Information Security (infosec).
To change your password on campus with your WFU-issued Windows computer
- Make sure you are using your WFU-issued Windows computer and are logged into the campus network (DEACNET).
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete simultaneously
- Click "Change a password…"
- Type your current password
- Select a new password and type it in the fields provided. You cannot reuse your current password or any of your 10 previous passwords.
- Click Confirm Password
Please wait approximately one hour for the update to take place across all computing services.
To change your password off campus with your WFU-issued Windows computer
- Login to VPN
- Press Ctrl. + Alt + Delete simultaneously
- Click “Change a password…”
- Type your current password
- Select a new password and type it in the fields provided. You cannot reuse your current password or any of your 10 previous passwords.
- Click Confirm Password

To change your password when using a non-WFU device
To change your password, visit: account.wfu.edu
Select “Sign in to change password”
Enter your username and current WFU password
Select Change Password
Enter your current password

Enter your new password, confirm your new password, and select Change Password.
To change your password on a Wake Forest MacBook Pro
To change your password, visit: account.wfu.edu
Select “Sign in to change password”
Enter your username and current WFU password
Select Change Password
Enter your current password
Enter your new password, confirm your new password, and select Change Password.
Please note that this will not change the password for your local Mac login. Review the following instructions to change your local Mac password.
