Many users also have a personal Google account in addition to their WFU Google account. In order to avoid authentication issues with WFU resources, we recommend that you use one of the following methods (see below) to work with your Google Accounts.
Possible Errors with Multiple Accounts
If you receive “403. That's an error" or "Error: app_not_configured_for_user” (see image below), you may have accidentally authenticated a WFU resource with your personal Google Account instead of your WFU account.
Option 1: Add your WFU Google Account to your Personal Google Account
- While logged into your personal Google account, click on the Google Account picture or icon.
- Select “Add Account”
Enter your @wfu.edu email, password and 2-step verification.
The next time you try to log into a Google authenticated resource, you will be able to choose which Google account to use to authenticate that resource. If it is a WFU resource, select your WFU Google account. This will also let you toggle between your two Google accounts easily from the Account picture or icon.
Option 2: Use an Incognito or Private Window
-
Chrome: Chrome menu > New incognito window (Ctrl + Shift + N)
-
FireFox: FireFox menu > New Private Window (Ctrl + Shift + P)
-
Internet Explorer: Tools menu > In Private Browsing (Ctrl + Shift + P)
- Microsoft Edge: More button > In Private Browsing (Ctrl + Shift + P)
-
Chrome: Chrome menu > New incognito window (⌘ + Shift + N)
-
FireFox: FireFox menu > New Private Window (⌘ + Shift + P)
-
Safari: File > New Private Window (⌘ + Shift + N)
